Description

VETUE FIN - SECADO is an intramammary antibiotic for the prevention and treatment of infections of the mammary gland during dry cow period.

Cloxacillin is the antibiotic of choice to treat dry cow due to its great activity on germs that most frequently cause mastitis in our environment.

Benzathine salt from Cloxalicillin is a special oily excipient that helps in the slow release of the antibiotic and the prolonged activity during 3 weeks.

Indications

Cloxacillin is a penicillin by-product created recently. It has an extraordinary effectiveness in the removal of sub-clinical infections caused by staphylococci, one of the most persistent forms of mastitis. It is also effective on streptococcus with an effectiveness of nearly 100 %.

Dry cow therapy. Prevention of mastitis in cows during dry period.

Method of administration

Thoroughly milk the mammary quart to dry.
Disinfect the tip of the teat with cotton swab soaked in alcohol.
Remove the syringe's protective cap making sure not to touch the intramammary cannula with the fingers.
Insert cannula in teat duct as little as possible to apply the product.
Inject the whole syringe content.
Rub the teat and lower part of the udder upwards.
Immerse teat in a proper antiseptic bath (Teat dip).

Dosage

One syringe per quart after last milking of lactation.

Precautions and contraindications

Do not use milk from the first 6 days postpartum for human consumption or for milk industry.
Avoid contamination of the environment. Dispose of used syringes in the waste container.
