Description

Injectable solution containing Enrofloxacin 5 %, latest chemotherapeutic agent belonging to the group of quinolones. Broad-spectrum bactericide acting directly on bacterial nucleus (DNA gyrase) inhibiting development of bacterial DNA. Acts preferentially on Gram negative, although it has effect on Gram positive, mycoplasma, chlamydia and anaerobes.

Indications

Infectious diseases caused by the following germs: Mycoplasma sp., Bordetella bronchiseptica, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella sp., Salmonella sp., Pasteurella sp., Haemophilus sp., Campylobacter sp., Pseudomona sp., Staphylococus sp., Streptococus sp.

Adult cattle: gastrointestinal tract disorders, respiratory tract disorders, urogenital system disorders (metritis, acute metroperitonitis);acute mastitis and prophylaxis of postoperative infections.

Calves:colibacillosis, calf diarrhea, bronchopneumonia, pasteurellosis, salmonellosis, staphylococcosis, mycoplasmosis, omphalitis and secondary bacterial diseases to viral processes.

Sheep and goats:Pasteurellosis, clostridiosis, colibacillosis, acute mastitis, gangrenous mastitis, contagious agalactia.

Pigs:Diarrhea in piglets, colibacillosis, salmonellosis, mycoplasmosis, bronchopneumonia, enzootic pneumonia and mastitis-metritis-agalactia syndrome (MMA).

Rabbits Respiratory diseases of the upper and lower tracts, enteritis caused by sensitive germs, pasteurellosis, salmonellosis, colibacillosis, staphylococcosis.

Cats and dogs:Treatment of infections of the digestive system, respiratory tract and urogenital system organs, external auditory canal and primary and secondary skin diseases.

Route of administration

Intramuscular, subcutaneous (do not exceed 10 ml per injection point) and very slow intravenous injection.

Dosage

AnimalSuggested dosage
Cattle, sheep, goats, pigs and rabbits.0.5 to 1 ml per 10 kg live weight, every 24 hours during 3 to 5 days, according to animal health professional advice.
Cats and dogs1 ml per 10 kg live weight, every 24 hours, during 3 to 5 days. Treatment shall be extended in chronic diseases, according to animal health professional advice.

Precautions and contraindications

  • Do not administer to dehydrated animals or with kidney problems.
  • Do not administer for long periods when animals are growing (no more than 5 days).

Use restrictions

  • Do not administer to cows during lactation.
  • Do not administer to animals raised for human consumption 10 days before slaughter.
  • Do not administer to pregnant females.
