Description

It is an association of Sulfamethazine, sulfa of choice for the treatment of respiratory tract diseases, Sulfamethoxypyridazine, a modern sulfa that can be absorbed quickly and with high levels in blood and Trimethropim, a sulfonamide synergizing chemotherapeutic agent that turns this combination into a broad-spectrum bactericidal.

Indications

Sensitive and very sensitive germs: Staphylococci, Haemophilus, Corynebacteria, Clostridia, Fusiform, Bordetella, Klebsiella, Neisseria, Listeria, Shigella, Pasteurella, Proteus, Salmonella, Streptococcus, Protozoa (coccidia and toxoplasma).

Germs with low or no sensitivity: Pseudomonas, Mycobacteria, Leptospiras, Erysipelotrix, Brucellas, Moraxella and Nocardia.

Preventive and curative of respiratory, gastrointestinal, genitourinary and septicemic diseases caused by germs included in the spectrum mentioned, for example:

Pigs: pneumonia caused by Haemophilus sp., atrophic rhinitis, bacterial complications caused by viral and mycoplasmosis, colibacillosis, metritis, salmonellosis.

Calves: colibacillosis, pneumoenteritis, omphalitis, coccidiosis.

Rabbits: rhinitis, pasteurellosis, coccidiosis.

Poultry: colibacillosis, infectious coryza, salmonellosis.

Route of administration

Oral intake.

Soluble powder: dissolve in drinking water.

Premix: homogeneously mix in portion of food.

Dosage

Except otherwise prescribed by vet, administer:

Curative action
Unweaned calves and piglets3 g per 10 kg live weight, distributed in two daily doses, during 5 to 7 days.
Breeding calves, cubs and fattening pigs15 to 20 g per 100 kg live weight the first day, reducing dose to half the second day and until the sixth day of treatment.
Rabbits and poultry1 g per liter of drinking water the first day of treatment, then half the dose for the next two or three days.
Preventive action
In the event of predisposing weather or stress factors, measure out half of the above curative dose.

Precautions and contraindications

  • Animals on medication shall have drinking water at will.
  • Do not administer to animals with impaired renal function.
  • Reconsider diagnosis if no improvement is observed within 48 to 72 hours after start of treatment.

Use restrictions

  • Do not administer to egg-laying poultry.
  • Stop treatment 16 days before slaughter.
